Hungarian Fur and Leather Trade Association

The FURBOOM 2024 competition
awards ceremony
has been concluded successfully

On 11 November, the Anantara New York Palace Budapest Hotel hosted the highly anticipated FURBOOM 2024 awards ceremony, where Hungarian designers presented their innovative products. The competition proved a high standard once again, with highly creative and technologically pioneering designs. This year, special attention was given to products made from re-used materials outstanding from the perspective of sustainability. The competition highlighted the potential of fur as a modern, eco-friendly design material, as this natural material is timeless and can be reborn in the fashion industry in many new forms.

According to the jury’s decision, Helga Kovacs won the grand prize with her unique swakara-leather combination collection. In addition to the thoughtful, stylised design, Helga’s work features a unique use of recycled fur materials that is not only both stylish and forward-thinking, but also environmentally remarkable. Her creations not only represent elegance, but also offer a sustainable alternative for the future fashion industry.

Congratulations to the winner and to all the participants who have shown with their creations that fur is not only a traditional material, but can also be an essential part of modern, sustainable fashion!
